One and Done Fall Registration Event

Grayson College will hold its popular “One and Done” registration day for Fall semester enrollment. On Aug. 4 new and returning students are encouraged to visit the Main Campus between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. or the South Campus between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to sign up for the new semester.

The one day registration event will help students who prefer to have face to face interaction throughout the enrollment process. “Many students prefer having personal assistance throughout the admissions and registration process,” said Amy Evans, Marketing and Public Information Director at Grayson. “While many students have already made their new semester class selections and have registered online, some will use this day to wrap up loose ends and get ready for the new semester. For new students, registration can be a stressful experience. We hope to ease that stress and help them have a good first experience.”

Because GC recognizes the demanding schedules of prospective students, it continues to grow the number of online degrees, as well as the flexible schedule options, including traditional semesters, minimesters, half sessions and Internet courses.

“Whether starting college for the first time or returning to school after a break, there is a class schedule that’s just right for everyone,” said Evans.

Students who visit either campus will receive admissions, financial aid, orientation, testing and academic advising during the “One and Done” event.

Current students may complete registration online or on-site, but prospective students must complete GC’s free admissions application process before they can register. New students under the age of 22 also must show proof of immunization against bacterial meningitis, and most students will need to complete TSI (Texas Success Initiative) referral for skills assessment. If students are unsure about whether or not they meet testing exemptions, they can talk to an advisor on site. In addition to testing, a 30-minute College 101 Orientation will be offered throughout the day. All offices and services are available on these special One and Done events; however, students needing to take the assessment test should arrive in plenty of time to complete the exam. The last exam will begin at 3:00 pm, and students will need to have $25 exact cash and a photo ID.

Online registration for all of the Fall schedules is available to returning students and new students who have completed the admission process. Students who have already completed the admission process can access the class schedule by visiting the GC website at www.grayson.edu and through the MyViking student portal.

Prospective students are encouraged to visit the college’s website at www.grayson.edu and click on Getting Started to see what documents they should bring with them to the “One and Done” registration event. Online information is available to help students prepare for their registration day.

Payment plans are available and students may apply for financial aid or scholarship assistance. A limited number of Scholarships are still available for the semester. Students who are majoring in selected technical fields should ask about the “non-traditional” scholarships and those entering specific academic fields should inquire about the TSTEM scholarships.
